It’s time to start booking your spring and summer vacations! Welcome to the "Hook, Line and Leisure"! This spacious lakefront home (1,848 ft.) is located on Lake Wedowee, just 10 minutes by boat, north of the 431 Marina. With a little less boat traffic, the peace and quiet from that area of the lake is the true meaning of a vacation.
An open floor plan on the main floor offers a kitchen, pantry, dining area, living area, master bedroom and bath. The Kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances and a built-in ice machine to fill coolers, if needed. The dining area has a very large table with chairs for dine-in eating, and just off of the dining area is a large screened-in porch overlooking a view of the lake. The main floor living area has a large, wood-burning fireplace encased in stone with a comfortable L-shaped sofa and comfortable chairs so you can relax and enjoy T.V. via STARLINK Internet. The master bedroom has a king bed, walk in closet, flat screen T.V. and a full bath next to bedroom. Linens will be provided for all beds and towels for bathrooms.
Downstairs, on the terrace level, you will find a smaller living area with a flat-screen T.V sofa sleeper, laundry room and a game room for the kids. Also on the terrace level, the 2nd bedroom consist of a queen sized bed, walk-in closet and flat-screen T.V. The 3rd bedroom features a bunk room with 2 twin beds and 1 full bed. There is a full bath on the terrace level.
FOR YOUR PROTECTION we have deadbolt locks on all entrances to protect our guests.
The terrace level offers a large porch with a large gas grill and a storage box for life vests. You will love the view of the lake with a gradual descent of the stone steps/path to a beautiful stone patio featuring a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, etc. There are also a few steps leading to the docks, one stationary dock and the other floating.
A NOTE OF CAUTION: This property is elevated with beautiful views of the water but there are 25 or more steps to get to the lake. I want everyone to be aware of the steps inside and outside of the home especially persons with mobility issues. Also, we are a house near a wooded area which means we share space with nature and wildlife.
During the spring of the year, beginning in late March, Alabama Power will begin raising the lake levels! While there are plenty of water activities in the area, you may want to go hiking, sunbathe, sit around the fire pit and roast marshmallows or hotdogs in the evening, take a nap in front of the wood-burning fireplace during early spring or you may want to catch up on some reading. There are always some awesome restaurants in Wedowee including Bobbers, Boondocks, Ms. Amber’s restaurant, Jack’s and Subway located around the Wedowee area on Hwy. 431. Fishing on the lake requires a license that can be purchased online from the Alabama Dept. of Conservation & Natural Resources.
Also, PLEASE BE AWARE: Both Alabama and non-Alabama residents are required to hold and carry on their person, a Certificate/License to operate a watercraft vessel on Lake Wedowee.
Bring your own boat or jet ski. Lake Wedowee does offer rental services for boats and jet skis.
