Special attention should be given to a unique service which guests can use. A boat shuttle runs on a regular basis from Pelican Sound to Lover's Key State Park and Beach in the Gulf of Mexico. This free shuttle service (to community members and guests only) sails down the pristine Estero River. On the way, you can see Florida wildlife living among the mangroves. You'll sail through San Carlos Bay observing the many schools of dolphins/porpoises playing and feeding. You are put ashore at the sugar-sand beaches of Lover's Key where you'll find quiet seclusion and great shelling.
If you are looking for boating in the fishing haven of the gulf or just want to explore the keys and isles, Pelican Sound offers a boat ramp and launch area. We can help on where to store you boat during your stay if needed. The River Club area offers free kayak and canoes for member/guests.
