Summary: Maison Sainte Barbe is a little haven of peace and loveliness, in an ancient building that has been sympathetically cared for. It was our final stop on a 2500 mile roadtrip before heading to Ouisteham, and I'd have been glad to stay longer. The rooms we had were large, airy, sensitively decorated and warm (when it was cold outside). Our hosts were kind, inviting and friendly, and everything was condusted with an air of unthreatening order and care. Breakfast was beautifully presented, with small delicious cakes in addition to the usual French breakfast items. If you love 'Eastenders' then avoid at all costs, because you will hate it. If you love peace, gentleness and a sense of historic France then this is the place for you.
